OUR STORY
"The journey of WOLI begins back in 2021 when I went on a semester with the National Outdoor Leadership School (NOLS). From this, I had a dream to create a space where we could create a community of badass women that could support each other in gaining competence and mastery of technical outdoor skills. I dreamed of creating a generation of female outdoor leaders that could inspire more and more girls to harness their strengths (and weaknesses), and come together in bridging the gender divide within the outdoors" -- Emma Taylor, WOLI founder at University of Utah

From Utah, WOLI made it's way to Colorado where we started on our mission to create this incredible community in Spring of 2024. We cannot WAIT to see where WOLI goes next!
OUR MISSION
"We aim to create a community of self-identifying and non-binary people on campus to support, inspire, and empower each other while gaining leadership skills, confidence, and safety in the outdoors"
WHAT WE DO
The vision of WOLI is to create a community that fosters real change, so that when our members graduate they have the leadership experience to create changes in the respective communities. We develop these skills though events that prioritize respect for others and technical development in outdoor recreation. This is done through intentional discussions, skill development clinics, social get togethers, and all sorts of outdoor activities to put it all together!
